Founded in 1988 and based in Bolton, Information and Data Networks Supplies (IDNS) has transformed from a company selling printer ribbons into a business specialising in audiovisual technology solutions. Despite its remarkable growth and solid reputation within the education sector, IDNS faced a critical issue: its brand identity was fragmented and inconsistent, the result of years of ad-hoc changes rather than a deliberate, cohesive brand strategy. With the industry moving towards integrated solutions, IDNS recognised the pressing need for a unified brand identity that not only reflected their values but also distinguished them from competitors and positioned them as leaders in quality and innovation.

“Technology that Matters” grew to embody more than just a strapline; it crystallised into the brand’s core idea, serving as a simple, memorable ethos and an aspirational call to action for all those engaged with the brand. It inspired the creation and adoption of technology that genuinely makes a difference. This rebranding was about more than updating the visual identity; it was a strategic alignment of IDNS’s branding with the profound impact of its technology in the real world.
This effort culminated in a vibrant colour palette and contemporary typography, knitting together a modern, cohesive brand identity that reflected IDNS’s dedication to forward-thinking and quality-driven solutions. This strategic overhaul revitalised IDNS’s image across various sectors, instilling a renewed sense of pride among employees and driving significant business outcomes, including a marked increase in revenue and profitability.
Thanks to this rebranding, IDNS now showcases a brand identity that not only stands out in a crowded market but also embodies a powerful ethos: the significance of “Technology that Matters”.
