SEVEN had outgrown its identity. The founder-led production company had developed into a confident, commercially capable studio, but its brand still felt static and understated – particularly in a video production industry already full of interchangeable identities.
There was a disconnect between the brand people saw and the business behind it. SEVEN was energetic, creative and proudly Northern, producing work built around movement and storytelling. Its identity needed to behave the same way.
That led to a simple idea: this was a brand that should behave like video, not just describe it.
Movement became part of the identity from the start, rather than something added afterwards. Typography, layouts and digital applications were designed to flex and animate, creating a system that could live naturally within SEVEN’s work as well as around it.
The result is a brand that finally feels like SEVEN – expressive, confident and full of movement, with a flexible system that can continue to evolve as the studio grows. As founder Paul Sherwood put it, the new identity captured the “DNA” of the company and gave the team a brand they could feel proud of.
